John Orriss
Logistics & Design | Director | Founder
With 25 years project management and commercial experience at board level in FTSE businesses, John is the driving force behind the seamless execution and timely project delivery upon which we pride ourselves here at Green and Rock. John works closely with award-winning architects Charles Mador and Partners to curate the intelligent forward-thinking design of the luxurious homes which comprise the portfolio. John champions the individuality of each project and takes time to listen to the unique needs of each client, offering a bespoke service from conception to completion.
Charles Mador
Architect
We are proud to work closely with Charles Mador Chartered Architects. This award-winning architectural practice specialises in innovative build projects both in the UK and France, and was one of the architects involved in designing the iconic Tate in St Ives. The practice has broad expertise in countryside planning issues as well as the design of rural and coastal developments. Charles is interested in the relationship of buildings to the immediate and larger landscape, working closely with landscape designers to harness the beauty of the natural surroundings. As a development company operating across Cornwall, this is of crucial importance to us at Green and Rock so that we are able to protect and enhance the natural landscapes within which our homes dwell.
Paola Ferreira
Architect
Mador Architects have appointed Senior Project Architect Paola to work exclusively as technical lead designer on the nine houses at the Cormorant Development to focus on every design detail. ARB Registered and a RIBA Associate member with 21 years of experience, Paola worked on projects across the world (from her native Colombia to Russia) before now focusing on luxury residential developments in the UK. Her creative skill and design-led approach integrates landscape and architecture in response to the spectacular natural surroundings whilst being sympathetic to local architecture and materials. Paola’s attention to detail and skilful approach to construction ensures a beautiful end result for the homes which comprise the Cormorant Development in Golant.
Matt Crompton
Senior Engineer
Matt is one of Cornwall’s most well-renowned senior engineers and director of a leading design and engineering consultancy. Having a broad-reaching knowledge about Cornwall’s residential landscape means that Matt is skilled at everything from small scale extensions right through to multi million pound commercial and residential developments. Under the skillful watch of Matt, our designs are renowned for their robust and durable construction whilst simultaneously retaining the desired aesthetics.
Richard Sneesby
Chartered Landscape Architect
Richard is a Fellow of the Landscape Institute, as well as being a show garden judge for the RHS at Chelsea Flower Show and a degree-level lecturer in landscape design at Cornwall’s iconic Eden Project. Richard’s consultancy work has involved strategic planning of historic estates, holiday parks, strategic master planning and development, and the creation of ecological nature reserves in Cornwall and beyond. He has worked alongside many of the best known names in landscape and garden design in the UK and is regularly asked to give lectures and chair national conferences on important new areas of research and practice. There’s simply no one better to design the gardens and outside spaces of our prestigious property developments.
Mike Thorpe
Lighting Designer
Mike is the Design and Technical Director of award-winning company Lighting by Plum and skilfully establishes a connection between the user and their home to ensure the lighting enhances the living space. Mike’s technical knowledge of the fast-paced lighting industry (along with his highly creative approach to lighting, design and control) ensures your new home is not only beautifully ambient, but also compliant with the latest industry standards and regulations. Previous roles in product design, car design and application development has enabled Mike to ensure all projects run smoothly, focusing on the detail and technical aspects as well as the delivery of each lighting scheme.
